Red discolouration in the coat - What's behind it?

You have a white dog and wonder about red discolouration under the eyes? There can be several reasons for this.

If there are no injuries, the red discolouration is caused by the tear fluid running off. Normally, eyes do not water because the body itself breaks down excess tear fluid. If this does not happen, the eyes start to water.

Please have them checked!

Red discolouration in the coat is an important symptom. It can be a temporary harmless irritation, but also an inflammation or injury. However, it is also possible that the tear fluid cannot flow out at all because the canal is not permeable. By the way, the discolouration is caused by a biochemical reaction. The dog is not bleeding from the eyes.

Watery eyes are not uncommon in dogs and are usually easy to treat. However, it is not enough to clean the red spots!

For all other impurities, the following applies: Please only use dog shampoo, as the skin of dogs is much thinner than that of humans. It also has a much higher pH value. The manufacturers of dog shampoo take this into account. In our stores you will find well-tolerated special shampoos for all types of coat. Let us advise you!

A little tip: Drying is child's play with a dog bathrobe! The fabric absorbs the moisture quickly and the dog can shake without putting the surroundings under water.
